There are many ways that you can help provide resources for the houseless in Humboldt.
We need volunteers to assist with the mobile shower Care-A-Van and pop up care center. We continue to operate and serve the north coast communities of Eureka, Arcata, and McKinleyville.
Your participation is also welcomed- help us create alternative affordable housing and shelter options while making long-lasting change in our community. We appreciate all forms of involvement and would be happy to support your efforts on behalf of AHHA and our neighbors outside.

Volunteer Opportunities
Shower Care-a-Van: Volunteers needed at all locations providing showers and supplies to houseless individuals. We need folks to assist with operations by signing in guests, cleaning the showers between uses, stocking and distributing hygiene kits, clothing and food, and doing laundry. We are also looking for qualified volunteers to provide haircuts.
Media and Publicity: writing or producing articles for print media or stories so people experiencing homelessness can share with the broader community.
Outreach: Compiling and sending newsletter and announcements to our mailing list and organizing volunteer efforts.
Fundraising: organizing AHHA forums or events, tabling at public events, visiting potential donors with pitch packets; strategizing for an on-going capital campaign.
Grant Writing: seeking out available grants and helping to write proposals for them.
Making Public Presentations: Developing an AHHA video or using AHHA website and videos posted there to encourage support. Writing articles and developing speaking opportunities by contacting churches, businesses, educational organization, other non- profits or organizations that work on housing and homelessness, and the community at large.
Administrative Assistant/Office Support Role: Check emails and phone messages; enter data and send emailing; conduct social media outreach and create marketing materials (flyers, newsletters, and etc.); support grant writing and report needs.
