May 29, 2023 Dear AHHA Volunteers, Friends and Supporters, We hope this message finds you well and filled with enthusiasm for the important work we collectively engage. We are delighted to announce our upcoming General Assembly meeting taking place on Saturday, June 3rd. This event promises to be an insightful gathering where we will discuss crucial topics and explore potential avenues for positive change. We kindly request your presence at the meeting, which will be held at the Labor Temple in Eureka, located at 840 E Street. This is a FREE event and all are welcome! Schedule for the day follows: Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., providing an opportunity to network and engage in informal discussions with fellow community members and guests. The General Assembly meeting will commence promptly at 12:00 p.m., and we encourage all attendees to be punctual. We will be adjourning at 2:00 p.m.
The primary focus of our discussion will be twofold. First, we will delve into the Biden Administration's 'All Inside Initiative,' an ambitious endeavor aimed at reducing homelessness by 25% in five major U.S. cities and the State of California. We will examine the initiative's progress, challenges, and potential collaborative efforts we can undertake to support this vital initiative right here at home. Secondly, we will address the pressing issue of the Fentanyl crisis within the nation's homeless communities and our own and how it impacts our organization. By exploring the crisis, we aim to raise awareness, share knowledge, and collectively brainstorm strategies to mitigate its devastating effects. Many events and opportunities are happening locally and we will share information and updates about these.
Your presence and active participation in this General Assembly is invaluable; together, we can make a substantial difference for those experiencing homelessness and related issues. By pooling resources, expertise, and compassion, we can forge a path towards a brighter future for our community.
